Turn Signal fixer upper
I mean, I've already gone this far....so.......why not just get in there, whole hog, and see if I can't do something about my short I have in the column? See, my horn works, but only if I cut the wheel all the way to the left. The turn signals work, but they blow out the fuse when I use them, so a short of some sort, is what i think the problem is. There is a bit of play in the column, as well. So.......why not fix these things, since I already have the wheel off?
Right, so, that is what I'm doing today. Probably around.....1pm, I'll be back, hot, sweaty, ticked off, ready to throw some wrenches, and generally, in need of a good vent. See you guys then!!!
BTW, you didn't mention if you had a standard (non-adjustable) column or a T&T. The columns are similar but different in how they operate. I do have complete instructions on disassembly and repair of both type columns. The instructions are available for download at Terry Rudy's websight www.corvettefaq.com

HOWEVER. I still have not been able to fix that turn signal
The switch is good...if I replace the fuse, the turn signal will work, until the fuse blows again. So it's not the switch. The emergency blinkers work just fine, no problems, although the left turn signal blinker light in the dash does not work, probably just a bad bulb. The horn now works, fixed that. But I can't, for the life of me, find where the wires are bad on this turn signal. I was so sure it had to be in the column...
And at this point, I'm hot, sweaty, and need a beer...badly. I am in the mindset now of screw that turn signal! Fact is, no one uses the darn things anyway. Never. Not even the cops.
