Default Overdrive trans controller

I just installed the B&M converter controller on my 200-4R trans setup.
It works real nice. I set it to lock the converter when the speed hits 43mph and it disengages as soon as I get below 40mph. No more chugging and pinging, no more downshifting, no more having to shut off the lockup converter every time I slow down.
It is a little pricey but worth it to me. I got mine through Ebay for $160 by using an ebay 10% off coupon.

This is perfect timing because I am actually looking for a good lock up circuit. I did locate two of them on Ebay, and even though they have the same part number the kits appear to be a bit different in that the control box is not the same between the two of them.

Which one of the these two is like what you have, and what are the differences?

I found that the control box with the dial is the newer kit. Other than the dial instead of the slider there is no operational difference.

Question though, when I put my TH200R4 in place instead of my TH350, should I transfer my old gear into the new transmission for an accurate reading?

That depends on what drive gear is in the trans. BTO has a calculator which will tell you what gears you need based on tire size and rear gears.

The install was fairly easy. The hardest part is getting to the speedo cable having to work around the exhuast pipe. The wires supplied are way longer then you will need.

Luckily I have side pipes, and I was checking out the wire length, pondering where to put the control module. It doesn't seem like something I will need to adjust often. I have a late C3 style passenger compartment with plastic tray, and I have a power inverter hidden under it where the jack used to be. I still have room down there for tools and such, and I might stick the control unit in there. Close to the battery and transmission for easy wiring.

Okay, so can I use my gear to determine easily what new gear I need to buy? Maybe by tooth count?

Yes, actually, but you need know the ratio of the DRIVE gear on the back of the tranny.....IF the count is the same as on your 350, sure you can go by tooth count....

I found the speedo gear in my 200 to be right on, as I bought it....I thought it was overindicating like wild and bought one with more teeth on it.....waste of time,.....according to the sites and so forth, I am right on....had to verify the tach as correct first, which I did.....

Not really
There are 4 diffrent drive gears
Green 10
Orange 11 No longer available
Red 12
White 13

There are 7 driven gears. 26 to 31 teeth. And it all depends on tire size and rear axel ratio. You need to do some calculations.
