How does the forume feel about airbrushing graphics onto your Vettes? Also, for those of you who have already taken this step, let's see some samples! :)
In my opinion, airbrush was awesome 20 years ago. But I was still getting a lot of attention when parked on busy street; people taking picture of my car and all.
I'm pretty sure that if the graphics are spayed over a layer of clear coat it could be removed in the future. Since spraying over CC is part of the process this would be a good plan if you wanted to take it off in the future.
I wanted a chariot pulled with 400 horses. Of course the chariot would look like the front end of a Vette.
Unless you have an artist friend I expect this would lead to a much higher paint job cost.
I think airbrush stuff would be cool under the hood.
Someday, I'd like to paint a pin-up (ala: my sig) under my hood
Dusty: I am still waiting for you to send me that pin-up's phone number :jester
Dewayne: IMHO graphics belong on motorcycles and 1960's Vans. ESPECIALLY NOT FOR CLASSIC CARS. Just my opinion... different strokes for different folks
Picture of a former Vette from my younger days.......
Liked it very much these days, but the car became boring after a year or two.
The original cars are real classics, the customs are attention drawers for a short time.
Just my opinion and experience.....
Thanks for the compliment guy, now the next paint job (dream) will have that BB airscoop design incorporated into an airbrush rendition of the 12 oclock high picture of a SR71 Blackbird.....
go to http://www.drublair.com
it's called 'the last hot flight' of that bird....now take that center fusilage picture that is SO similar to the BB vette hood, ghost in a SR71 around it...in black, fade to dark blue, then the classic shark paint job fading through blues...maybe greens....to white on the bottom....
Depends on the graphics. MRVETTE i love the shark, but i think it would look cool hanging on the wall of my garage. Not on my car.At the SEMA show this year there was a yellow C5 with airbrushed emblems. Looked pretty cool. Racing stripes are cool to.
