where can you source the dimmer switch? All the ones in the parts books appear to be the floor mount style. Mine is under the dash under the steering column.
i believe you should have a floor mounted dimmer switch. is the a black pedal looking piece on the left side of the floor board? the switch is under that.

It has a round **** directly below the steering column and dash, and is between two skinny pull-down *****? That would be the Wiper Override Switch. It allows you to stop the wiper arms up on the windshield so you can change the blades. The skinny **** on the left opens the headlight doors without turning the headlights on, and the one on the right opens the wiper door without turning the wipers on. Per the Owners Manual the panel with these three switches or controls is called the Headlight Control Panel.
All this assumes the '68 is the same as the '69 in this regard.
