Question about int. quarter panel retainers
I bought my project 69 with a dismantled interior, and lots of unmarked parts. I have all 4 retainers, but they came from different cars...couple are red, couple are silver.
Are they painted to match the body color of the car, or the interior color of the car? If its the interior color, can I use the SEM interior dye meant for the vinyl to paint them to match the rest?

The quarter trim retainers are to be painted the exterior color of the car Champ. I have seen people do them in black, and other colors and they do look ok, but from the factory they were the color of the exterior of the car.

Mine are polished with very fine steel wool and then some mothers polish. I think they turned out pretty good. Mine are stainless and polished up nicely. But I have seen some that are not stainless and would only look good if painted.

We have them in chrome at around 170.00 a set. For the difference, it might be cheaper to buy a set and have them chromed.
