Progress pics 427ci small block
Finally got the heads back from the machine shop and one final mock up before putting the heads on to get my pushrod length correct with the T&D shaft rockers. Hopefully will have it running in a couple of weeks
Couple of pics of the assembled heads, AFR 227 Eliminators, the heads flow what AFR says they do. I especially like the mid lift numbers where they flow 300cfm @ .500" lift :
Not much room between the valves, the intake valve is 2.100", they almost appear to be touching
Here is the Vic Jr. intake, it was port matched to the heads by AFR and it was flowed with the heads and the combination flowed well over 300cfm
Very nice port matching job done by AFR

At first sight, your 427 looks exactly like mine, as mine is also black (rather than the usual Chevy orange) and has AFR heads and Milodon pan.
Yours are 227 heads compared to my 210's, and Vic Jr. intake compared to my Motown....I considered your combo before deciding on mine. Depending on your cam choice, yours has the potential for more HP. The Super Vic (on paper anyway) would yield slightly more HP, but a ported Vic Jr. should yield more TQ throughout the RPM range......I am anxiously waiting for the results of your ZO6 killer..
Should be a screamer with those heads and intake. What is the pink in the back of the block, Glyptal? Also, what hood are you using to accomodate that high intake?

That "pink" was supposed to be POR15's bad idea of maroon/burgundy which was the color of the entire block before I reapainted it black
