Default L88 Air Chamber Problems

So i figured if i have the l88 hood why not make it functional? i bought the air chamber form ecklers p/n 10416 and sized it up today and it did not fit at the top of underside of hood were the brace goes across, o ya my hood is the long style from ecklers as well. has anybody ran in to this problem? seems to be alot of cutting involed to make it work?

I have the short hood so there was no problem. I remember reading here thought that the long hood did require some modification. Do a search for L-88 hood to see what you can find. Both in C3 Gen & Tech & perf.

I think Zwede is using a long L-88 hood with the air cleaner setup.

I have the long hood and airbox, it did take some cutting to get it right but was worth it I thought. I marked the center of the carb where the stud for the air cleaner is onto the hood and trimmed the air box to fit up against the cross support at the back of the hood with the hole centered on the mark.

any trimming of the support? looks like you have to cut the support alittle to bring the chamber centered properly

I didnt cut the support at all except to get the air intake hole opened up. I did all the trimming on the box so it fit up against the support the way I needed it to. Then filled the edges to smooth them up good.
