Default several questions, I could use some help!

OK Ive got a few questions:

1. is 200* too hot? it used to run at about 180*, dad and I overhauled the carb, and now for some reason the temp keeps climbing, it was 190* one day, 195* the next and its 200* today, I think I need to flush out my cooling system, would that help?

2. when my gas pedal is on the floor, should my kidk-down stitch be %100 engagued?

3. there is suposed to be a spring attached to my throttle on the driverside of my carb, but for some reason Ive got 2, and my pedal is 10 timed harder to push compared to my dads 72, if I removed one f these springs would it make my gas pedal easier to push?

thanks so much guys

1. No, 200 F is not too hot for your car...especially if it has a 195 F thermostat in it (I'd change it to a 180F stat if it was..)
2. Yes.
3. Yes.

I installed a 180* thermostat on friday and its still going to 200*

how would you go about getting my kick-down fully engagued? adding shims to the switch or pedal? or bend the pedal?

Those springs are your "return springs" and typically one fits inside the other and both are hooked up in the same place. When you let off the gas they return the throttle to idle position (zero position?). The reason they are doubled up is a saftey precaution - if 1 breaks or comes unhooked the other will still allow you to throttle back down when letting off the gas. I'd stick with 2 but you can find some with less tension to lessen your pedal if that is your aim. There are a variety of springs on the market, everywhere from Summit Racing to your local hardware store. Less tension will also take longer to snap the throttle back when you let off the gas.

200* is not to hot, I'd love it if mine ran that cool...
