Default safe to modifiy the strut rod bracket?

i have a VBP Smart Strut bracket on my car right now, and because of its different shape, im having a hell of a time getting my exhaust in and still having ground clearance.

is it safe to modify the bracket at all so i can get my exhaust up higher?

Is there a reason you cant tuck the exhaust inboard of that where the bracket isnt as high? I believe thats basicly how the factory does it...its how I had mine done and it works great. even though my bracket is spaced 1/2" down from the diff.

You do not want to see mine. Mine is quite a bit cut away. It works fine. My exhaust also was hitting. I changed some things on the rear well after the exhaust was made so I had to modify it.

i can move the exhaust over into the other section, but then it throws off the angles of the exit pipes, and to get them lined up right i only get about 2-2 1/2 inches ground clearance.

Gordonm - thats what i was hopeing to hear. cosmetically, i dont give a damn about this thing. i was more concerned with structural integrity. i was thinking those corners were reinforcements so the thing didnt snap or break away.

Try to take away only what is needed but I had to take away quite a bit. I have put some HD miles on it and so far I'm good. I'll be at the autoX this weekend to really put the stress on it.

if you're worried about it breaking you can always box it in after you cut off what you need to

You should be able to take that angle and make it intersect much closer to the bushing while leaving the other end in the same place. Or keep that angle the same and just move it outboard.
