Don't learn the hard way like I did, that bolt is NOT for PRESSING on that damnper......I am used to doing Pontiac engines that way, the early one's...and not SBC's.....I tried it on my engine here and had to redo the threads in the crank....need a fully threaded press/tool into the snout in order to press that balancer on....in fact my engine is held with alotsa locktite and minumum torque as I no longer trust the threads....been fine for 4 some years now....
