Well I knew it would happen, just when
I only had one ignition key to the column but spares to the door and now I can't find the ignition key. So what are my options? Have a locksmith come to the house and make a key or is there a nuber somewhere I can get from the ignition switch and take to him to get a key made?
Thanks,

If it were a door key it would be simple. The door lock cylinders have the key code marked on them. But. . . On your car or any ignition cylinder there is no code. You'll need to get a locksmith on this one.
on my 72 there is a code on the ignition lock cylinder xx##. i just had a locksmith make two new keys because the only other key was an old aluminum type. follow jim shea's papers on disassembling the column to get to the lock.
