MSD Ignition question, pls help!!
I know someone with a stock L-82 vette and he's wanting to upgrade to an MSD 6A. What would be involved? Can the MSD 6A be installed with the exsisting stock setup or would he have to upgrade the coil, wires, distributer, etc.?

I'm pretty sure you can use the 6Al with a stock dist and coil. The dist is the biggest question...if it were a '69 I would say no prob, but on an '82???

MSD will recommend you use their coil. Everything else should be alright.

yeah, you should run a different coil. if the distributor has the coil in the cap, you can buy a conversion kit for it tou use the external coil
