i recently replaced the cam and lifters in my 80. the tach and wipers do not now work. i cannot find any loose wires. the tach responds when starting the engine then dies. any suggestions?

Check the wiper motor fuse, replace it even if it looks good, and try them with the IGN on.
As for the tach, double check the placement of the plugs into the HEI distributor cap. They have to all be seated properly.
