Default NGK spark plug

Hey Guys,

I am looking to replace my spark plugs and need some info. I have searched the forum and it seems like most like the NGK spark plugs but type of plug is most the time left out.

Do you recommend the Iridium IX plugs or one of the platium plugs?

Then which gab .045 or .035. My engine is not the stock L48 whimpy 180 hp. I have change it out with a 375hp crate motor and put a MSD 6AL ignition box on to help.

I am thinking I need the Iridium plugs gabbed at .035 but need some opinions.

Thanks

If you don't mind spending the money go for the IX plugs, as for as the gap I would stick with the .045".

How can you determine that without knowing the cylinder pressure he has?

I would suggest staying with OEM's, AC's. Oop's, sorry, I missed the non-stock engine.

I'm not a fan of the platinum or iridium tipped plugs - have seen the little expensive 'pucks' blown off - hate for little pieces of metal to be inside my engines!

I like the NGK TR55 copper core (think thats the right number), but I'm running ls1 engines.

There's no need or benefit for iridium plugs. They simply last longer, not work better. Stock plugs, stock gap is just fine.
