Default Head ID help please-487, 461

I have a pair of 3973487 heads that I am taking to Carlisle to sell. I am having a hard time ID'ing them exactly. Mortec says 71-72 350, 72 LT1. Mine are dated J-22-70 so would be for a 71. They have big valves, but not screw in studs. Is this L48 or what? After the casting there is a flat spot, and I suppose there could be an "X" there, but hard to tell. If they were 461X heads, is the X part of the casting or is it stamped? They are in nice shape, with 1 valve that is missing a small slice. Any idea what they are worth these days?

I also have a single 3782461 head with a clear J-9-2 casting date. Mortec says that 461 is 64-66 while the 461X is 60-63. I suppose there could be a stamped X after the casting number, but I don't think so. I will post this part in C2 also, but am just wondering if there is any market for this head? It is in nice, unbuilt shape.

Finally, I have a single 3911032 head which Mortec says is 68 327. Is there any market for this one? Casting date J-11-7

I am cleaning out what i am unlikely to use. I have had all of these since the late 80s. Funny how all of these have "J" dates. The singles I got in a trade, but the 487s came on a motor a good friend of mine heard run, but it had a miss. He bought it NOM in a car and used the short block in something else.

Thanks for any help, see you in Carlisle.

Someone on the C2 side explained that the X is cast into the intake runner on the bottom side. With that said, the 461 head is an X and the 487s are not.

according to Corvette by the Numbers, 1955-82, Alan Colvin, page 155 ...

3973487 heads ...
1971 350/270 1.94/1.50 valve size
1971 350/330 2.02/1.60 valve size

1972 350/175 1.94/1.50 valve size
1972 350/255 2.02/1.60 valve size

LT1 330hp had swirl polished valves and chrome valve stems. Also, factory installed screw-in studs and pushrod guideplates. The "X" version of this head was for late 1972 only.
