I broke the contact clips that goes thrue the circuit strip in the back of the tach/speedo housing for the tach. does anybody know where i can buy a new one. thanks alot
Are you looking for the tach/speedo cable hold down clip. In other words, the clip that holds the cable to the back of your tach/speedo gauge? If this is what I think you are looking for how many do you need?
i just got done working on my 79 tach. if i recall the studs are screws that go through the housing from the tach front. i would assume if they break you have to replace the tach itself or find a way to extend them.
I assume he's talking about where the threaded screws from the connections on the tach plug into the printed circuit board. These are pressed into slots and "snap" into place, then when you push the tach into place, they grip the screws and make electrical connection. There are three of them, 12v, grnd, and tach feed. They don't come with the new printed circuit, they fit into the housing behind it. I suggest you contact Willcox Corvette or someone who advertises tach repairs, I'm sure someone will have a replacement.
