2. Weather stripping

Engine drivetrain should be done this winter. Slowly coming together.

Re: What is currently wrong with your Vette? (Mikes80L48)
Over 5 years ago I took my 1982 Collector Edition off the streets. It has been a dedicated drag race car ever since. The car only weighs 2800 lbs.!!! Nothing is really wrong with it, it just isn't fast enough (yet)!
I've removed many, many parts off this car (between 24K and 32K miles) and I would like to sell them. By the looks of the loooong lists in this thread.....maybe one or more of you need something I have in my basement.
Please go to the following C3 Parts For Sale forum link to see how I put my car on a diet (and maybe buy something)! http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=209403
Thanks for your help and good luck with your projects!
Re: What is currently wrong with your Vette? (ODennis)
Well it's winter and my list is;
1. A-arm bushings( all stripped out just painted them today waiting for front end kit)
2. Side yokes
3. Trailing arm shims are about gone
4. A/C (parts on order, with frontend kit)
5. Radiator support (with the other order)
6. Leaks, you name the fluid and I'll show you the spot :D (except brake did that this summer)
I need to remember to give my UPS lady some little gift
Re: What is currently wrong with your Vette? (Mikes80L48)
I'm just missing a few parts!
The transmission is being rebuilt
Changed ring and pinion
Changing rear wheel bearings on the passenger side
Rebuilding brake calipers
Installing new adjustable strut rods
Loads of other stuff needs to be done but I've bit off enough for now.
Re: What is currently wrong with your Vette? (Mikes80L48)
Here's my list:
1. Front bumper is out of alignment and has nicks in the paint from when I had a diabetic reaction and passed out behind the wheel and ran into a parked car.
2. Fast-idle sticking. (Had the car power-brake itself through an intersection today on a sandy road.)
3. Power-steering leak. (I'm becoming He-Man!)
4. Slow power windows.
5. Power door lock on passenger side sticks sometimes.
6. Leaking T-tops. (Don't they all?)
7. Cracked T-top.
8. Strange wire under the hood that's not connected to anything. :smash:
9. AC needs to be recharged.
10. One muffler hanging because I lost the J hook.
11. Both doors mildly out of alignment.
12. Left blinker not working.
13. 305ci LG4 stock motor. (Nuff said.)
(Only took me 2 minutes to think of more!)
14. Clock doesn't work.
15. Headlights need a helping hand to get up.
16. There's a gap of air in the brake lines that keeps my brake light on all the time.
17. Getting a small hesitation off the line. (My fault of course...this is what happens when you learn how to work on a QJet with no prior knowledge.)
On the ride home I also remembered:
18. Oil pan smashed in from previous owner probably hitting a curb or median. Has a slow but steady leak from the drain plug because the dent goes into a "V" right in front of the plug.
19. In cold weather it has a bog.
Hmmm...that's all I can think of right now...I'll remember other stuff later on.
You'd think my car was a real POS from all the stuff I listed...but it still looks and runs good!
