Hood question
I bought a 76 in a box and almost have everything done but am wondering about the underhood insulation. first, is it required and if so I really don't like the horseblanket that is stock. I was wondering about reflextec. Has anyone tried it or any other suggestion. Thanks in advance for your help

This is that I did on my 74.
Got the material at napa. Helps with hood heat and
sound. glassman74

As I understand it the insulation was for noise. Refletix looks nice. Mine will get removed and under hood painted when the time comes...or the money

I ran without hood insulation for awhile. The heat on the hood was not a problem, but all the engine noise comes through the windshield as glass does not insulate against noise. I added Dynomat insulation on the inside of my hood with regular hood insulation over it. Really cut down on the inside noise. Now I can hear my radio.

I haven't had hood insulation for over 15 years and it hasn't hurt anything. As stated, it was more for noise control.

glassman74 Did your hood already have the mounting tabs glued on or did you add them? Looks nice. My 71' has nothing and the hood gets HOT.
