I was wondering what everyone's favorite website or websites is for corvette parts. I have a few items I need and the list keeps growing. So by having a list of websites I can determine the best buy. I am personally like to use http://www.jcwhitney.com/Auto-Parts/10101.jcw but they do not have everything.
Wilcox has a lot of the correct parts you need, high quality, and great customer service.
I have also used Zips with good results, and Mid America, though expensive, is good too. Lots of vendors have their plusses and minuses, you just need to do your homework so you get the right part from the right vendor. Never limit yourself to just one vendor.
I have bookmarks for over twenty Vette parts vendors. J.C. Whitney is not one of them. There are four or five vendors that get the majority of my business for replacement Corvette parts, but I shop around for price and parts availability and part quality. I have separate bookmark folders for specialty items like convertible tops and interiors, performance parts, used parts, services, information sites. I recommend that you at least put the following Vendors ahead of J.C. in your bookmarks or faves:
Corvette Central
Willcox
Mid America
Zip
Corvette America
Paragon
Dr. Rebuild
Ecklers
I use Zip for most of my stuff. I have used Corvette Central, Eckler's and Corvette America without a problem. Just don't buy interior dye from Corvette America, it sucks, ask me how I know.
Depending on if I need parts for my '65 or '78 I usually order from the following vendors in no particular order (some vendors have better quality and/or better pricing on different parts so it depends on what i'm ordering)
I have used:
Ecklers
Davies Corvette Parts
Doc Rebuild
Corvette Central
Vette Brakes and Products
Van Steel
Summit
Jegs
I really have no complaints at all with any of the above - all have been excellent (yes, even Ecklers).
I have not used Willcox as yet but I am impressed with the interest they show with helping members of this forum so they are going to be on my list for future purchases.
I like my car to be as factory correct as possible and I have found that Paragon and DR>Rebuild are by ar the best in that category. Also Al Knoch for interior parts is the best.
How do you know. Where to you get your interior dye. Dave
I know because I bought a half dozen cans from them and prepped everything exactly the way they tell you to and it chips off very easily. I am constantly touching it up, something you should not have to do. I am not the only one with this complaint, there is a recent thread on it with others having the same complaint. I will only use SEM Products from now on. On the other hand Corvette America does have some really good deals on NQP (Not Quite Perfect) items and I am very satisfied with those, most look perfect unless you really inspect them closely, and the savings are substantial on these items.
