Default Help Please!

I am selling an intake manifold that was numbers correct for a 79 and 80 L82 engine (14007378). I was asked the following question.

"Will this intake manifold work on an L48 350 76 engine?"

can someone help me out on this one? I know it will fit the engine, but will he have to make any mods?

thanks

Yes. The '79 and '76 hoods are the same so there won't be any clearance issues.

thanks, but, I didn't think the hood would be a problem anyway. My concern was that it would be a direct bolt on, which I am pretty sure it is. From a 350 to a 350, no brainer. But, I guess my guys question is, will everything else hook up correctly? If anybody knows that, I would appreciate it.

The choke provision may be a concern. The '80 uses an electric choke and the '76 has I believe a divorced choke.

I don't understand why you would loose any performance. His engine I believe only produced about 190 hp, unless they were different for that year. The L82 was a 225hp engine. If anything, shouldn't it help? The choke was a concern but I guess if he bids on it and buys it, he'll just have to work that out. Thanks

The 80 L82 intake is aluminum and flows better than the L48 boat anchor. In fact with a little port matching it doesnt flow much less than a few after market intakes. Certainly wont hurt a stock L48 engine. Even if the choke has to be switched over to the 80 electric thats a quick and inexpensive swap. JUst my .02
