Interior dye
Hey guys,
I have a pair of kick panels I need to dye with Dark Brown. I just discovered the prices for interior dye, and WOW. $16 a can? Oh Snap!!!
These kick panels I have already have a coat of the original GM paint on them. Do I need the $16 can of primer as well, or is it only for parts that don't have a coat of paint on them already?

GM didn't 'paint' interior parts; they are dyed. If you use dye, you can re-dye them as many colors and times as you want and they will still look the same. If you paint them, you can never dye them again and you can probably only paint them once or twice before you cover up the surface grain. Do a SEARCH on "vinyl dye" to learn more....lots of threads on this.
