Hey guys, when Corvette Central shipped my exhaust pipes last year, they didn't even box them. They just taped some cardboard around the mufflers, taped a label to the pipes, then shipped them. They arrived in suprisingly good condition. I'm not saying this is the way to go, but it might work if you're trying to avoid major shipping aggravation for used parts.

Oh, and Monty, got any Speed Pro stuff lying around your garage ;)

-Joe

You might want to check into getting a collector plate for your vette, here in ohio they say they only let cars 25 years or older have those plates. And having the collector plates make it so emission can't touch me...i've got them on my 78 pace car, and a buddy has them on his base 78...from what they told me they allow most corvettes from 82 and older...that is if you want to keep your exhaust the way it is...

Thanks guys for the help. You really answered my question well :yesnod: .
I got the manifolds as a present and want to go back to the stock setup. I am just wanting to put my Vette back together for cruising status  .
Do yall think that I need to go SS or can I just do the aluminum pipes with no problem? Once I get it back on the road it wont be driving in the rain unless I get caught in it.
Thanks :seeya

Well that is interesting, the woman's car I worked on had a small bump/ridge on the driver's side, and a 'standard' hole on the pass side....
'78 former silver black not pace car....at any rate the car was WELL used and had been wrecked...but not so as to see the side being affected...just the front and rear....but well...who's to say....at any rate, it was a ONE hole crossmember....wonder what year it came off of....it was the reason we didn't go to dual exhaust...I remember the exhaust guy and I looking at it on his rack and the conversation, and thinking how far the gommint and GM had gone to prevent messing with exhaust.....

I feel sorry for you. Having to convert back from dual exhaust must suck. I am glad there are no emmission crap in KY. :D :D I don't have to worry about any of it.

Too bad we're not closer either, I have front and rear stainless steel y-pipes that are cluttering my garage. Two Flowmaster Delta 50 series mufflers still clamped on the rear y-pipe. If anyone in the Chciago area needs or want them, let me know. I've got a pair of Dynomax Corvette ceramic coated headers as well
Hey Monty: I am interested in the headers and flowmasters also. I live near by in Gurnee and could drive down and check em out. Your car too!!!

77,

I've promised the headers and mufflers already to some other people, but if they change their minds, I'll let you know. But you're welcome to come down when I get my car back. It's getting picked up next Saturday to have the turbo headers, intercooler, exhaust, etc fabricated.
