I just got a '73 with a 4 speed. It had been sitting in somebodies driveway for 11 years, so to say there are some rust issue's is an understatement. I'm trying to get the brake pedal and clutch pedal assembly out. I need to replace the bushings and spring on the shaft because after you hit the brake pedal it doesn't come back all the way and the brake lights stay on. My problem is, I'm trying to remove the pin and clip that hold the master cylinder clevis onto the brake pedal. The clip came off, no problem. In my manual it shows the pin as being removable, but I'd swear it's welded in place. I've tried vice grips, hammer and chisel, and just plain beating the heck out of it. But, it will not budge. I've also drownd it in WD-40. Any suggestions??
Well, I finally got the pin loose. Now it doesn't clear the assembly that holds the brake and clutch pedal's in place. Shouldn't the pin come all the way out?

Try pushing the brake pedal inward to get the pin out if it won't clear anything when at rest.
If moving the pedal forward doesn't do the job, you may have to loosen the nuts to the booster (or MC if you have manual brakes) to give you more flex. I had no trouble getting the pin out but had a nighmare getting it back in. Without loosening the nuts, I'm not sure I'd ever have got the pin in place.
