water pump pulleys
with out making this too long the water pump on my 69 sbc has a 5/8/ piolet i have also seen other with 3/4 piolets are the pulleys the same except for the piolet holes long story short having water pumps issues with weiand

Chevrolet changed the the water pump inpeller shafts in 69/70. Not only is the pump main shaft a different diameter, but the bolt hole spacing for the pulley and fan clutch changed also. 69 and earlier pulleys and fan clutches won't work on 70 and later pumps and vice versa. Later GM replacement pumps (and most after market pumps) utilize the smaller shaft and a universal bolt pattern so they can be used on a variety of years.

No, the pulleys are different "depth" also. The 3/4" shaft "short" pumps for 71-82 Corvettes only, have a different block to hub face measurement (5-13/16) versus the 5/8" shaft "short" pump for 1955-72 Cars (5-5/8).
