Default Finally got these gears...

I've been waiting since the beginning of November. PS: That's grime, not rust.

What gears are they, it seemed like you were going bigger than 4.11?

QuickVet's got it. They are original GM made 4.56's. I have brand new Scheifer 4.88's as well but they are being saved for when I can afford a spare differential.

Couple of question that are off topic of the gears but here goes;
1) is your car lowered or is it the tires that make it lower?
2) it appears by your signature that your set up for drag racing, what kind of times are getting?
3) with your gearing and total set up I bet your tough off the line and pulling some Gs:yesnod:
4) do you have traction problems with your set up?
5) love your rims, do you think if I got the 17x8 they would fit with out any problems or spacers? :crazy:

The car is lowered in front with F-41 springs without spacers and the rear has 10" end bolts adjusted close the the bottom of the bolt. The tires are 25.6" tall, the perfect height in my opinion for the fender height of the car. I ran an 8.90 and a black Z06 ran 8.80. It was a horrible day, it's like running a mid to high 13. I had no problem running head to head with high 12 second cars here at home. Go figure! Traction is not as bad as you'd think with the six link and all and that was with the 4.11's. 17x8 should fot your car with no mods if you get them in a factory 4" backspace.

Stingy, What cam are you running in your car. I have probably seen it before but just interested. You should be much better than 8.80 in the 1/8 mile. I'm getting around 8.2 to 8.3 on street tires. When are you going to get to run this combo.

It was a 280H from Compcams. Here at home I can keep up with high twelve second cars, so I know that's better than an 8.90 but traction was a real issue. I can remember that pre production Z06 spinning just as must as I was. My signature lists all the stuff in the works. The other combonation is long gone. The new cam is a 285 grind mechanical on 106 lobes, as are the Track 1 heads and Victor Jr. intake. This combo should get close to 500, maybe 475. I'm hoping to get things back together by spring. I'm pretty poor right now.

PS: I've never run the slicks before, just the 17" BFG tires. They stick pretty well to corners but are as hard as steel when it comes to traction.

That's the plan. The 4.56's and the 28" tires should put me at peak power as I cross the line. It will be interesting to see how it works with short street tires. I didn't have that bad a traction with the 4.11's really.
