Yesterday I was just looking over the car while it was running and noticed that it had fuel shooting out of two little holes on the side of the fuel pump all over the headers!!! Well needless to say i put on a new one i had lying around and not only did it fix my bouncing fuel pressure gauge but it fixed my idle problems!!
what are those two holes for? Is it so if the diaphram goes bad the fuel has some where to leak out to?
Those holes are vent holes. The up and down action of the diaphram creates both pressure and vacuum. You might want to check your engine oil just to make sure that it did not become contaminated with raw fuel. Might be a good time for an oil change just in case.
