Default FOUND AN ABANDONED 80 L82

Hello all! New to this forum but I've been on the sidelines for a while. My question is on parts interchangeability. Our project is a 75 coupe w/98K mi, auto, 1 glass & 2 sets of solid T tops. All parts are original, (in family since 84). This will be a daily driver slightly warmed over. The abandoned car is less engine, trans, front brakes, doors, and dash assy. All the glass, windshields, misc interior pieces, and a complete rear differential w/brakes and original rims are still on the car. (looks like a project gone south. Body shop closed down and ended someone's dream). Is it worth having the 80 as a backup car for parts? BTW, its free... just the tow bill.

Personally I think that if you are looking for a donor car, you should maybe be looking for a 73/74 thru 76. Too many big changes between 75 and 80.

BTW: Welcome to the forum.......

The differentials are different, but I would at least take the car and part it out on eBay... Or give away parts on the forum. :D

Oooooo!
I'd LOVE to find an abandoned '80 !

I'd sell off the frame and all the running gear, build a tube frame for it and make it into an all out drag car!

Make sure you get a CLEAN title with it! It would be a shame to actually spend some money on the thing and have some guy come up waving a title at you!

Didn't that just happen to someone here on the forum and they took his car away while he was in the middle of an off-frame restoration?

I definitely agree with the clean title suggestion Smokehouse69!

KenSny,
Did you buy your '75 in Massillon Ohio? A lady used to use a car just like it for a daily driver and I haven't seen it for a long time.

NO, The car came in from Visalia CA.

What a way to make frinds...freebees. Only thing, how long does the frindship last? Hmmm..

The 80 would be for parts only. There never was any intention to try to make it road worthy. Ill probably try to sell off the usable parts to help finance upgrades to our TOY.

Thanks all. This site is great and Im sure there will be many more questions as we move foward with this project.

Silver Shark, that Medium Saddle '75 you were referring to is in a garage behind Doctor's Hospital in Perry Twp. I seen it there a year ago, and it's probably still there.
