to mill or not to mill...?????
After removing the heads for reasons other than blown head gasket, is is always nessisary to mill the heads before re-installing them on the engine? I did loosen the head bolts in sequence as instructed by Haynes manual. I guess what I really need is a good straight edge and feeler guage. Trying to save money here. Not after any compression increases.

Thanks Keith, its just and old 4x4 Blazer im workin on. With it cold outside and snow on the way, im kicking myself for not fixing it in the fall. Im glad when I pulled the heads that I found the culprit. Burnt exaust valve.
