Default front mono spring ratings

I bought the front mono spring setup from a member here and it comes with the SPORT rated spring. Does anybody know what rating sport is? On the spring is all the ratings up to 420#'s and the SPORT rating is the one checked off . That rating is at the bottom of the list...
The VB's site doesn't help with this.

I have the same set up but I do not know what the spring rating is. But for the most part it does not matter to me as long I can adjust the ride height (out side mt bolts) and spring stiffness (inside mt bolts). As far as I know Vette Brake only sell one type of spring for this conversion kit. You will probably have to call them to find out this information. But again if you can adjust ride height and spring stiffness why is it important to know the spring rate?

You can go as low as you want until the spring contacts the lower control arms or the tires hit the fenders.

If this is the VBP kit...

There should be some grease pen writing (my writing was yellow). It should say K=***. That's the spring rate. Mine is 621.

As for the spring bolt lengths, the monospring conversion basically converts the front set up to be like the rear. So all you need are longer bolts to lower her further. However, with the 8" bolts that come with the kit, you will come close to the bump stops on the LCAs. You will need to modify the bump stops or go with a stiffer spring rate in order to run as low as you can with the front bolts. I measured a ride height of 26-1/2" fender to ground with BFG T/As. I did a little research and figure I can 27" with a stiff setting and be fine. I may trim the bump stops a little if need be. She looks sweet at 27"

They told you right about finding the spring rate on the spring related to the ink marking and the K=XXX. The other number on the spring is the serial number. If you are not sure which spring, arch style you have, you can call there and they can trace the serial number back to tell you exactly which model spring (arch style you have).

The 300 and 330# rear springs have an arch style similar to the stock spring. The 360# rear spring has a little lower of an arch style which will sit you a little lower already and has a stiffer rate for more of a performance feel. The 420# has a lower arch style and higher rate and is used mostly for racing only.

It is typically recommended to use the 8" bolts for C-2 and C-3 Corvettes, the 10" bolts for C-4's and the 12" bolts for C-5's. Some C-3's have used the 10" bolts if they want to sit the Vette lower and cut some excess off if they interfere.

The bolts are longer than stock and have more threading than stock giving you the ride height adjustability.

If I can help in anyway, please do not hesitate to contact me or call VBP at 1-800-237-9991 and speak with Steve or Gary in the tech dept.
