I have a 76 350 with a 600 holly and the stock hood is on the car.
I have a performer intake with a 1 inch spacer under the carb and a 3 inch thick air filter (K&N) and I have no clearance problems.
I want to replace the intake with a polished one from edelbrock....I would like to use the performer air gap or the performer RPM air gap.
I looked up on the net and checked out edelbrock spec.s and the spec's indicate that the performer air gap is just a tad under a 1/4 inch taller that the performer and the performer RPM air gap is just a tad under 1/2 taller than the performer.
In conclusion, if I remove the 1 inch spacer, then will either intake would be low enuf to allow the air filter to clear under the hood.
