I'm currently busy (besides that D&%n door) to install the new Harnesses. Is there a method to test sections of the harness. For instance check the backup lights , blinkers, markers etc.
Can I just hook up the battery and put power on the individual pins of the connector? or do I fry the lot.
put a low amperage fuse in line with the battery, about 5 or 10 amps. that way if you cause a short, the fuse will blow before any of the fuse-links or any damage is done to the battery or wires.
you bet you can check all circuits, I highly advise it.
Prep everything so nothing will short out, label everything.
switches lights, be sure you know what the expected outcome is before you activate or simulate a switch, use a piece of solder to simulate small switches.
If you mess up/ Short something, the solder will open way beofore any damage is done.
