Okay, However the company just called me and said they can not get the tire anyway, so my order is cancelled. I might look into the 225 70 , just can not seem to find tires that are H rated for my car. I have 255/60/15 on the front now and they are rubbing very bad. Oh well back to the searching.

Are you planning on running a 1000MPH or what?

Not really just want the tire to be able to handle what the car could give them, when I add the OD trans the car would be able to reach 150 and so an H rated tire would be a good idea. Look its simple, I am not putting an S rated tire on my muscle car. My 2006 Civic has H rated tires and I have not used S rated tires on any of my cars in the past. Why cant the companies just make a tire that is H rated and call it a GT radial? GT cars today come with Z or higher rated tires, am I asking for to much here? Don't think so.

I just saw in the Jegs catalog, they are selling Firestone wide ovals in a G70-15 size with raised white letters. There are also some BF Goodrich tires in red line or white wall in modern sizes to fit our cars (225/75, 235/70, 255/70). Neither brand is cheap though. They are over $230 each! I wonder if one of our forum vendors have them cheaper?

Apparently so because you haven't found anything yet?

I think the truth is they are supporting new cars and not older models. Its about selling large numbers of the tires, classics are becoming fewer and fewer. The day of the 15 inch wheel is gone.
But I am finding tires out there. If enough of us talk about this maybe they will do something.

Tim, the 225/70/15s you have look nice and there are H rated tires in that size, can you tell me the measurements on this tire (Dia, tread, section width...). Thanks Frank

As for your question about the BFG Drag Radials, I've never used them but from what I've read and heard they are just OK for general use. I chose the Nitto Drag Radial because it has a "V" speed rating and, while it probably gives up a bit in terms of ultimate grip at the strip compared to the BFG, it's a better all around tire for street use. Here's a shot of my Vette with 235/60/15s in front and Nitto 275/60/15s in back to give you an idea of the stance with those sizes. I'm actually about to put the 275/50/15 Nittos on the back because the 275/60s are 8 years old and I want fresh, shorter tires for a pending trip to the strip.
great looking vette, id like to put the 275 60 15 on the rear of my 71, with the originial rally rims work in this size tire? any spacer needed? for the fit? thanks for any help
