Yes, the ends are available alone about 130 bux/set of 8....pricey.....
BUT they don't BURN....or melt, I have 8 mm wire on them, and the wire is a bit loose...so yes your 8.8 should fit....

Well, got the PRICEY set of 8 and have a question; which end of the ceramic boot does the silcone boot go on...the end the plug goes into, or the end the wire goes into? It will fit either way. I think the plug end, but thought I would ask.
