Default Side vents for air intake ??

Hi , I got a 73 vert. 330 hp crate, tpi injection, 700r trans, alum. radiator(will have push and pull fans)
Just ordered vintage air. I pulled out old ac lots of room down by side vents What do you guys think of connecting air ducts from side vents to the intake of my tpi ??? I'm also considering moving the battery to same area passenger side ?????
Thanks Greg

The intake plumbing would come close to the exhaust manifold or headers so you would still get some heating of the intake air. It's very difficult to find an underhood air source that is ideal. There is just not enough room or there is stuff in the way. Most TPI or LS1 conversions end up just using an elbow with a filter attached.

I don't know why you would want to move the battery to the front of the car. It just adds more weight to the front end and that will do nothing to help the handling. The stock location is much better, IMO.

Plus side vents are functional for letting hot air out. Placing your inlet there would be sucking hot engine compartment air into the motor.

My thinking (moving the battery ) was to get some storage as convertibles have so little space. When I took out old ac it left alot of open space

As to heat I did wrap my headers and the ducting wouldn't be too close but if vents function to let heat out I guess I'll just leave filter on TB

nothing beats the L88 cowl induction hood. It looks great and functions even better, and best of all, it allows for a "real" manifold. Diffenately will be my next mod.
