Default ideal front end drop

Hey fellas,
What is the general ideal drop for a 63 to 82 vette? @ what point do the wheels start to rub on the fenders? Dropped spindles? What are your thoughts?

I cut one full coil from the front springs, and got a 1.25" drop and am very happy with the results. I think 2" would have been the maximum before I started worrying about rubbing or suspension problems.

Hi 71,
DB is about right.
Remember, how low you can go also depends on the height and width of the tire you're going to use.
Regards,
Alan

Maybe. If I recall correctly, Zora used standard Chevy full size passenger car front end components to save money so he could have the IRS in the back. In theory aftermarket dropped front spindles for late '50's or early '60's Impalas, etc. should work. Anybody tried it?

You can buy drop spindles but you will need a brake kit to go with it, very expensive. I bought QA1 adjustable coilovers because stock brakes are very good, and am very happy with the ride. Dropped nose almost 4 inchs. Put 10 inch bolts on back to lower.
