Default headlight door adjust

The headlight door on my 76 is off by about 1/8". High on fender side, low on hood side. Is the adjust for this the allen head screws on shaft?

since the door is low on hood side, i'd suspect the header bar is loose.

Hi RIP,
The stops with the set screws only move the door side to side in the opening.
I think its more likely that the 3 screws on the bearing assemblies need to be adjusted.
If there's not enough adjustment there I think the headlight frame needs to be shimmed where it bolts to the header bar or the front support.
Regards,
Alan

Hey Alan,

My passenger side headlite door is OK except for the inboard/forward corner is quite low. How do I go about adjusting? I figure I can shim where it attaches to the mounts, but are there adjustments integral to the assembly?

Thanks,
Rob

Hi Rob,
Since only one corner is low I think you need to adjust the INNER rear bearing until BOTH front corners are low. Then you can adjust the center adjustment screw/stop until the door is flush with the head light surround.
OR... you can try shimming the bolt that goes through the headlight frame at that front corner. Since the frame sits on top of the front fender reinforcement at that point a shim will move the door up at that corner.
I hope this helps!!!
Regards,
Alan
