Hi Gary
Just replaced the bearings and seals in my diff.
Pinon drag set @ 16 lb/in
Pinion shim .027 (factory)
Back lash @ .009.
The first pic is the drive side
The second pic is of the coast side.
The pattern doesn't look right, What changes do you think I need to make.
Are these new or used gears?
The lash is open if new gears and the drive pattern is deep. I can't see enough of the coast to say they look high. If used gears go for the best coast pattern you can get.
Scott,
I do use a slip fit to get me close then install the new one and sometimes still have to fine tune it. I also find the setup brg's only last me a couple of builds before they start to get sloppy.

They are the old gears. I'll try to get a better pic of the coast side for ya, see what ya think. Thanks for the reply.

Gary,
Should he make a slip fit pinion bearing and play with the pinion shim, maybe increase shim thickness?
Scott
Hi Scott I have a set up bearings made up and the pattern looked not too bad when I used them. The pattern only narrowed on the top after I pressed the new bearing on. This is the original gear set.

Here are two more pics, hope they are better for you. The gear set is the original set, 3.55's
