Sounds like Skip is being free with his info to straighten out some clouded web info which seems credible at least.
I think its agreed that if someone wants the absolute best head out there they do exist but not everyone can pony up the dough for them.
For the entry level rodder, young guy on a budget that just cant get the scratch together and is dead set on getting a head for $600 and change it may be worth looking into for some. Somethign for everyone I guess.

Someone I know popped the head off a valve on a set of Chinese heads during a 1/4 mile run taking out the head, piston and put a hole in the cylinder, basically the entire motor is a pile of scrap metal right now, he saved a few bucks on the heads though

First of all, I am disappointed that certain members here go bezerk and act like children when addressing a problem with a new member.

Second, you only get what you pay for. So why are some you comparing $600 Chinese heads with $1200 CNC quality stuff? And then whining about it? You don't want the cheap stuff don't buy it, but for crying out loud - be mature about it. Personally, I like my GM Fast Burn Alum heads over most of the others. But that is just my opinion.

Finally, I have done some business with White Automotive. I found their employees to be quick to respond to any issue I had. I have bought both from Ebay and the store directly. And every time I got what I expected for the money.

Welcome Skip if you stick around. Not all of us are trigger happy jerks.

I agree, guys give the man a break,he seems to be a good guy and you dont have any proof that hes not.Listen ,american stuff isnt all its cracked up to be ,i bought edelbrock heads that nobody makes headers for,do to edelbrock changing their design and not telling the customers that theres nobody that makes headers for these heads. And second is hookers headers that you have to roll the dice to get lucky if the headers will fit or not do to being made in mexico. So ihad to get the hooker headers custom modified to fit the heads, number 6 plug was blocked by # 8 exhaust pipe, then when i get that done ,i bolt up the headers to the heades and find out that the collectors are too far outward ,they run right into the floor pans,so i try a old set of hookers and they fit ,go figure,. So now i have to have the shop cut off the collectors and make them shorter so i can run and exhaust. At lease Mr White is making the chinese heads better then what they were at his shop.Shoot,if he had chinese heads that out flowed and out performed american heads, everybody would be buying them, especially if they were only about $700.00.Yes it hurts because america is loosing out to the chinese, mexicans, hong kong, russian, etc, the blame goes right to the white housebastards, vote them all out
so american business selling foreign stuff is the only way they can compete ,its cheaper and most people can afford them, and busineses can stay alive and profitable.

Hey Shane,
Just checked out your my space site. You are right with your quote - "a boy in a man's body" as evidenced by your immature postings here.
Why not do us all a favor and go back to the kiddie forums were drinking and puking are the mainstay of conversations.
Leave tech discussions to the adults.

After about a 2 hr talk with Skip its my opinion hes a gearhead/racer just like the rest of us and is trying to improve a low cost head. If it was priced like the higher end stuff or making huge claims I could see some ball busting but damn for $600 whaddya want;sounds like hes intent on improving his product. I give him credit to come on line and admit to some f'ups takes nuts. Good luck with the venture there Skip hope the issues youre dealing with get worked out .
Without investigating things its easy to get the wrong impression and go for the jugular, thats the 'net

Shane,
I don't drink.
Good luck with growing up - you have got a way to go, but hang in there

BTW - if you don't want people looking at your my space site then why link it to your profile?

There are far less knowledgeable people than Skip posting here all the time as self proclaimed gurus.
I have always thought that there was something to learn from everyone - just more from some than others.
So give the guy a break.
Peace

You really are pretty immature for 27 yrs old aren't you?
Is your avatar pic your sister? because I can't imagine anyone that good looking falling for a mental midget like you.
I have some cool friends from Australia. Guess you are there just to maintain the balance the other way.

I originally stumbled across this thread seeking comments about Patriot heads for my sbf. I was shocked at the initial attacks on Skip White, but was pleased when smarter people chimed in. I don't approve of Gingerbreadman's attitude and demeanour.

That said, let me say that I have bought many various products from Skip White over the past 6 to 8 months. I have always been satisfied with the products, prices, and service.

I was glad he ventured back to this thread. Now I'm going to his site and check out what he's offering in cylinder heads, and perhaps I will buy some Patriots.

Hugie, this info is in my previos post. You must have missed it. The work that was done on those heads was performed in Alabama not overseas. Cuisinartvette, the new fully cnc'd heads we have have been doing very well in dyno tests so far. We have put the engine back on the dyno to further test these heads against one more brand. The flow numbers did in fact indicate promising results. I have learned one thing, and that is that flow numbers are only part of the story. We have seen heads with lower flow numbers, do better on the dyno vs a set with slightly higher numbers. I'm not a full fledged head designer by no means, so I can't realy say why this happens. kevinator80 I have not offered much info on the heads, as no one has asked for any, and I've been busy defending my self from assults from what appears to be a mob mentality. Cuisinartvette is the only person that asked a question, and a normal one at that, and I anwered it.

Thanks Skip, for the Reply. Your explaination sound very reasonable and I will consider purchasing your heads in a future build I have planned.

Skip, I am interested in better flowing aluminum heads for my 73 Vette.

I have already purchased the Edlebrock Air Gap intake and the Thunder Road carbureator for the car, due to the endurashine finish. I am considering heads and a cam to round out the package. I have some Headman headers to go on the car.

The cam I am looking at is the Performer Plus cam kit (Hydraulic Flat Tappet, Advertised Duration 288/288, Lift .442/.442). This is the recommended cam for the carb and intake.

I am looking for mild street use, no track time for this car, mostly cruise-ins and parades so the engine has to be very streetable.

I am considering the Edlebrock heads, but would like to save the $500.00 by using one of your products.

What heads would you consider best for my application?

All in all a very good thread. It looks like Skip answered a few questions and gave some good advise. I agree that buying a set of performance heads for under 700/set is a good deal. The immature remarks and attacks showed immaturity but at least Skip had the guts to stay and fight. I just might look into his heads for my next build. Can't beat the price!!
