You need to use a 10'-12" needle nose pliers and it makes it much easier. There is also the fishing line trick, insert in end of bolt and thread through the frame and pull.

I had the floor jack hold the rear of the arm, while I lined up the front of the arm with the bolt hole. Place the bolt through the inside hole. Once aligned,I push the bolt through.

Mine weren'y bad but my car had no rust issues. Bolts came out very easily. It is a little frustrating, but take a rest and come back and try again.

I used my long needle nose fishing pliers. It worked great.

For the fishing line trick, do you have to drill a hole through the bolt, or is there a hole there for the cotter pin you can use.

Needle nose vice grips. Makes it easier to manuever the bolt around. Once started, you can use a long screwdriver to keep pushing the bolt through.

The bolts should have a cotter pin hole.

When I installed a hitch on my car, the kit came with a thread wire to get those tricky bolts in place. Basicly stiff wire that wrapped around the end of the bolt threads and was used to pull it into the tight space.

Good Luck!

I did mine ths past summer. Took me about 20 minutes per bolt. A little tough but not impossible. No new cuss words; I got by on the ones I already knew.........

Search my user name Darrel1- I give instructions for the fishing line trick and drilling the hole. The hole needs to be in the lead in point on the bolt not the largest part of the diameter.

I used dental floss instead of fish line.

Well I guess here goes my install 2 cents. Installing really not as hard as we including myself make it. My suggestion is install the bolt about 1/4 the way though the back hole. Do not install shims yet. Lift the arm up and place the bushing end in the hole and aline with the bolt hooking bushing on the bolt. Reach up inside small cavity where bolt head is and push through. Twist arm until alined with hole in other side of frame. Push rest of way through and attach washer and nut. Don't tighten yet. Place your shims to back side of arm bushing, the slotted ends slide right over bolt. Shims should be same thickness as ones you removed. Slide arm on the bolt all the way in, then start sliding in the outside shims in. Keep staking them in slotted side frist until there is no space. There should be no play in arm. Tighten nut and put in cotter pin. Then put long cotter pin in to hold shims. Just my 2 cents but sure takes alot of the hell out of putting T/A's back end. Hope this helps.
