The shop it was in was a pretty busy place. So, it took about 9 weeks to do. But, I aslo had the rear suspension rebuilt. New joints and all that pressed into new A-arms (front and rear) The shop I took it to has done this MANY times on older Vettes so they knew what they were doing. With EVERYTHING done it cost 1483.45. That's fabricating new crossmember, installing all the bushings and rebuilding everything....Im real pleased with the out come and i know it's never going to break on me again.
Must have before I bought it. It was poorly fixed. And one day in school parking lot(we have MASSIVE speed bumps) some jerk cut me off, and I slid onto and over the speed bump into a foot deep pot hole that is connected to the bump and I think that's what gave it the final tear like that.
Aaron does the place also do frame straightening and what is name and location of the place? My 81 is paint stripped for repaint and I want to get frame checked before getting paint done.I think I will be getting mine repainted two tone, bright metalic blue with shade darker botton half.
