I finally got to meet Lars this past Sunday. Wow, am i jealous of his garage! He's got tools for just about everything  He built an excellent steel fuel line for my '79 and helped me check my carb and timing as well. He was kind enough to spend a good portion of his Sunday with me, a fellow forum member, so I thought it only appropriate to say thanks here on the forum where "everyone knows his name." Thanks again Lars, and keep up the excellent work!

Thanks for the note and the kind words. It was great having you drive all the way up here - I enjoy meeting and working with the people here on the Forum.
Dan's car, being equipped with air conditioning and a single-inlet Holley (inlet on driver's side) presented quite a challenge for our tube fabrication skills... but the all-steel line with a screw-on '85 Vette F.I. filter ended up fitting in there like a glove. No more rubber hose on the pressure side of the system!
Dan is planning on making the trek back up here in about a week-and-a-half. Our task then will be to "color-sand" out his entire car and to do a two-stage buff-out on it to remove some imperfections, construction overspray, and to smooth out some minor orange peel in the clear. I'm expecting his black Vette to come out looking like a mirror. If anybody wants to participate in a "how to colorsand and rub out your car" tech session, contact me for time and place for the "operation." Man.... we ought to set up a live videocam on this one..... hmmmm....

Where were you when I was out there tuning cars and drinking beer...?? Ya' should have stopped over...! Since Michigan does not strike me as a vacation paradise in the winter, I probably won't head out that way until it warms up a bit...
Lars, the weather in michigan and colorado in no way can match this paradise in florida where we can drive our vettes all year long!!!!!!
So move here!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D

Actually, there are enough Forum Fanatics in the Florida area that a tuning and Vette-playing session down there could really be a blast. My wife has told me that we can go down to FL in the winter, and I can tune a drive Vettes all day long if she gets to lay on the beach. If we can get some serious sponsorship for a trip down that way, I'll come down and dedicate a few days' of hard-core Vette tuning and beer drinking. I'll bring parts, tools, specs, and plenty of BS and stories....
Hey Lars... Why not plan a trip to Florida for the NCRS meet in January? Or there are two HUGE meets every year at the Daytona speedway. These meets are  They have every thing you can think of in the way of steet rods, classics, Hundreds of vendors too! You cannot cover it all in two days.

Weather permitting (since Dan has to drive up form Colorado Springs), we're going to do the color sanding and buff-out on Saturday 1-19 at 9:00am. We'll probably meet at the shop in Broomfield so I can use the pneumatic buffer instead of my electric one here at home. We also have the big Hotsie at the shop, so we can blast all the buffing splatter off the car once we're done. Lemme' know if you want to stop over, drink a few beers, and get splattered with rubbing compound, and I'll give you some directions.
You bet! I'd love to drink some rubbing compound and get splattered by beer, or do I have that backwards. Either way I'm there. I'll get in touch with you before then for directions.
