DWELL meter ?
Ok Gang after 40 yrs my NEIHOFF (remember that brand) dwell meter has shot craps and with these $$%@#varible bifocals) I CAN NOT see the points and feeler gauge to get them adjusted. What is a good one out there to buy now.
I looked at Snap-on they don't have any it seems, I am sure they are still made. Have looked on rip/offbay and there are not that many listed and can't seem to figure out which is best! I am open to suggestions!!
Thanks Gang wro87

The last I checked, Actron makes a good one. I think you can find these at your local parts store too!

As much as I hate to send one one to the Zone, here is the link. Around 25.00 retail.

Ahh The Good old days. YOu could buy a timing light, dwell meter and vac gauge in a kit for around 50 bucks.
Sears has them. Some one on the timing thread had part numbers about a month ago. I went and bought a dwell meter, dial back timing light and a vac guage for less that 150.00 delivered to my door.

Believe it or not this one still works after 40 years. The company (Make Waves) is still in business which is a good sign. The modern version looks the same and is their #7136.

Lots on Ebay. I was able to get one for about $20. One other idea is to check your local technical schools to see if they have one for sale as dwell meters are now obsolete and they might be willing to deal for peanuts.

I still use a old "Heathkit" that I built 45 years. It has calibration pots for both Dwell and RPM. A friend of mine has a Actron and a Sun Analyzer so I can keep it calibrated.

For $50 I got this off ebay:
Works great, used one when I was in high school and worked at the local Arco station. I still have my old Sears dwell/tach and timing light for backup too.

It's a 67 MGB. I replaced the sills, floors and lower fenders due to the infamous rust issues with B's. Stripped it down to a bare shell, it's been 2 1/2 years so far. Just about ready to get it into paint. After that it goes to my son. The 68 vette goes to my daughter, but not while I'm still around. Got to keep an eye on the food she makes for me (like she can cook!)

I was in sears 2 weeks ago and I saw a dwell/tachometer.. wow...
thay ARE still around...
here is the one I bought from sears sometime around 1974.. it has served me well and still does, I have had to replace the battery tray from leaking batteries when I only use it once every 5 years...
