I'm installing true duals on my otherwise stock 76. I've got the drive side in no problem. The passenger side has the heat riser valve on it. There was no gasket or shim on this side like the driver side. Should I install the gasket and shim on this side or put it on like it was? The kit from covette central came with a gasket and shim for each side. Can I just delete the heat riser? Or do I need a spacer for that?
I believe you're going to need to use the heat riser or you may have clearance issues with the right side exhaust. With out the heat riser or a spacer...
the head pipe is going to need to be lifted to reach the manifold.
There should be a flat gasket between the heat riser valve (or spacer) and the manifold.
The exhaust donut goes between the bottom of the valve and the head pipe.
You'll need a heat riser or spacer. Gasket on top between riser and manifold then a donut with a steel sleeve inside it on the bottom between the pipe and riser.
