I will be replacing the transmission. I thought with all that out of the way I might save some time if I could pull it from the front and not have unhook the suspenion and not have to realign everything. It is an eighty with the aluminum cover. Just curious.

If you pull the rear end there are three bolts that hold it in. You must disconnect the drive shaft and half shafts. You do not need to have an alignemnt done if you pull the diff as long as you mark the struts (If Factory) and relock in the same position.
There is no way the diff is comming out the front.
