Was curious if anyone has used one of these Dash Pad Cap/Overlay from Ecklers or Mid-America on an early c3?? I read that quite a few people werent pleased with them on '77-earlier c3s, so curious if the older ones were any good? I really cant budget in the money for a brand new one at this point with money being tight so thought this may be a good option...
Opinions??
TIA - Chris
I saw one on a '74 at a car show a few weeks ago and I must admit, at least from the outside of the car, it looked pretty good. Enough so that if I cannot find a good used old original pad I might consider a cap.
I installed one on my 79.
Just the short one that covers the top only.
The "wings" at the end of the dash top that go out in front of the door window posts where broke off of my dash.
I trimmed off the part that hooked over the front and installed just the 3 black parts across the top of the dash.
It looks ok, but the defroster grill no longer fits correct.
Eventually, I'll be replacing the entire dash.
Thanks for the replies guys!
Hmm... again I see someone saying the newer c3 pads are not that great... sounds like that one on the '74 was ok... any other experiences with the older models??
