Was looking online tonight for a decent 383 crate motor saw this company and looked promising. Has anyone ever used there motors, or even heard of them? For the motor guru's how do the parts used look? will they hold up under normal driving? i seen 2 that were very close links below the first is a standard belt set up and they use diff. heads and distributor and the second is a serp. belt system, preferences on the heads and dis. would be great, im leaning tword the first wat do u guys think.
lol well thats the thing i got another month and a half before i go reserve and im pretty sure i can find some minor work to do for the rest of the time
I bought from them a couple of years ago and had a few problems with bolt ons that I purchased from them and found that they have terrible support. They promise to send replacement parts that you call about several times and never get. I gave up. I have heard that they were going through some tough times with a lot of employee turn over so maybe that issue is fixed. I had my motor down last winter to put a little more cam in it and found that the lower end work looks really good. Lloyd convinced me that I needed no more than the Dart 215 "as cast" heads for my application so that is what I got. I would never do that again. Those factory assembled heads were the worst I have ever seen. Castings were terrible, valve job terrible, clearancing needed around pushrods tha never happened, etc. I would not have issues with the Dart head but buy the CNC heads and have someone that cares about what they are doing assemble them. Also, the AED Holley that they push did not work well for me.
