Default question about heads

ok ihave decided to get new heads but what is the difference between angled and stright plugs? and if possible do you now what a stock 81 head is. thanks for the help (i feel dumb now) Randall Graves :chevy

I can't answer that very well, but you need to check if your headers and intake are compatiable with it.

I'll give it a shot. Your 81 heads are straight plugs. The angled plug heads(like my trick flows) direct the flame to improve the combustion which in turn increases performance. Most of the headers will clear, just might need a little "Tweaking".

what about heads for a '73 L48 are they do they take straight or angled plugs?


and yes.... I feel a little stupid asking to but it is better to learn than to pretend that I am smarter than I actually am :bb

All are straight plugs, I believe they angled the plugs to clear headers, in
doing so they noticed a slight improvment in performance. This was because the "flame" from the plug was now closer to the intake valve. Nothing new here
because if yu move the straight plug closer to the intake you will get the same small increase in performance. :D
