Default 200-4r dipstick

Hi

I am finishing up a engine/transmission swap, where I swapped my th350 for a 2004r.

I'm trying to get the dipstick in for the transmission, but no luck. The dipstick came with the transmission, I'm not trying to reuse the old th350 dipstick.

Is there a "Trick" to get the thing in?

THanks

If you are using the same dipstick that came out of that engine/trans originally, it should fit fine. Each transmission has the dipstick/fill tube calibrated together so that the "fill" mark is in the right place to set oil level. Try rotating the dipstick a fraction of a turn and see if it will engage the fill tube properly.

The 2004r tube will fit. It was one of the last things I put in before raising the trans up to install the crossmember.

Sorry, I meant the dipstick tube. I cant get the dipstick tube to route to the hole in the transmission.

You may have to do some adjusting to get it to fit. When I bought my setup from BTO it did not fit. The tube would go in the hole but the tab that is suppose to hold the tube in place with the trans bell housing bolt did not line up with the hole in the bell housing. I was told to check it before I put it in the car by someone on the forum and that saved me a lot of trouble.

Default Tube DOES fit, but the tab to bellhousing .....

The normal bend of the dipstick tube does fit but I had to bend the hell out of the tab that goes to bellhousing bolt, to hold it steady!!!!!
