replacing rear fender question

replacing rear fender question
I'm in the middle of replacing my rear pass fender. my question is, is there a bonding strip that goes vertical right behind the door? And does the horizontal bonding strip go all the way up to the back of the door or do I need to trim that to fit with the vertical piece?
I'm having a little trouble with fitment. it sticks out a little further than the drivers side when I mount it and everything's flush. so that's why I'm wondering about the vertical bonding strip right behind the door. as of now I'm just going to sand that vertical part down till fits nice.
thanks for any help....and pictures help a lot....i can't find much on replacing the rear fenders...fronts seem a little easier.

Great pictures with the quarter panel off!!!
Here's one with it on.
By 70-71 St Louis was no longer using bond on the panel at the back of the wheel well to the quarter. They were just using sealer. The bond was shrinking and 'sucking' the quarter in, and you could see and feel a vertical indentation on the quarter behind the wheel well.
