GM starter motor codes
Anyone know a web site to decipher the number / letter codes stamped in the outside housings? Never spent anytime learning application and date of manufacture. Really appreciate it, thanks.

Hi CLW,
For 70-72 starters, for example, there are 2 lines of stamped information on the starter case.
Here's an example from the NCRS, 70-72 Tech Info Manual.
1108338 0 A 23 4
DELCO REMY USA
1108338... 350 Manual, 70 and early 71
0...70
A...January
23...23rd day
4... unknown
The NCRS Spec Guide lists the part numbers for all years judged.
